Blog!

Final Blog Post

Hello Everyone! This is my final Blog Post of my Senior year! It's been a while wild but we're finally here. I didn't really have a ton of time in shop due to normal Monday gym and Tuesday was Senior Skip day, but what time I did have was spent on finishing my teacher's gift. I also worked on putting back together that guitar I took apart last week. There's not much else to talk about in this preview, so for the final time, let's dive into the week! Coming in on Monday, I cu

Carnival Work & Gifts (Week of 5/11)

Hello everyone! This week in the Engineering Shop was spent working on a bit of everything. I've continued work on the NTHS Ring Toss, though we're changing directions a bit. I also worked on 3d printed Steam Engine that Mr.L asked me to make, started work on a gift for a teacher who wrote my other Letter of Recommendation, and started to fix another guitar for the music department. It's getting very close to the end of my Senior Year, so there's around maybe 2 blog posts lef

Gear Toss (Week of 4/27)

Hello All! I hope everyone had a nice week, as this was our week back from April break. Some progress was made on the gears and I also started work on a project for the NTHS in our school. The clock is on track for being done before the end of May but it will be cutting it close. Let's dive into the week! First day back from break on Monday, I got to work fixing the gear models that broke last time, due to me sizing them up. I didn't take long and I was able to actually 3d p

Before Break (Week of 4/14)

Hello Everyone! This week was a small break from the Mechanical Clock and also a bit of shortened week for me as I was out Monday. Very little progress made on the clock when I did work on it but I was able to finish my Teacher's gift as well as make something for my parents as their birthdays are over the break next week. I don't have much else to talk about in the preview, so let's dive into this short week of Shop! Starting off on Tuesday, I checked on my teacher's pencil

Gift Boxes (Week of 4/6)

Hello Everyone! Been a minute since my last blog, right? We didn't have school last Friday, so no blog post last week. This week a bunch of progress was done on the clock and I started a side project that I can work on in the background. The clock is going to take a few more weeks to finish, but its steady progress. Anyways, lets dive into the week! Starting in on Monday, I worked on(finally) finishing the gears and getting everything in place. I got the Power Reserve(how th

Reworking Gears (Week of 3/24)

Hello Everyone! This week was fairly normal in the Shop. I was only out on Monday due to me coming back from a family trip over the weekend. I mainly worked on reworking the gears this week and I was able to get some physical gears laser-cutted so progress was made. I do believe I could get this project done within the next month. Enough talk, let's dive into the week! Coming in on Tuesday, I revisited some of the example clock models I found online so I could see how they s

Shorten Motor Work (week of 3/17)

Hello all! This week in shop for me was very short, as I was only in for like a day and a half. We didn't have school Friday and I was sick Monday, so I didn't much time to do stuff but I was able to make some process done on the CAD side of the clock. I've hit a wall in repairing the machine that Business & Marketing gave us due to the motor. Without farther ado, let's dive into the week! I was out sick on Monday so my week started on Tuesday, which I imminently dived back

Gear Prints (Week of 3/9)

Hello Y'all! This was a mix between working on side projects and the mechanical clock. I've moved onto the next big part of the clock this week, so we'll see how long this step takes me. I don't have else to talk about in the preview, so lets just jump into this strange week! Coming in on Monday, I deiced I wanted to fix up my laptop today. A few of the screws on the bottom were missing and I have no idea where they went, so I was just going to replace them with some screws

Outlining Models (Week of 3/2)

Hello All! This week was a very CAD focused week for the Mechanical Clock. I was mostly just modeling and sketching out stuff all week. I also started a side quest for Mr.L but that was also more modeling. I don't have a lot of things to talk about in the preview so let's just jump into it. Starting off on Monday, I got started on the outside design of the clock. It's a bit easier to design the mechanics of the clock when I know how much space I'm working with. I used a bunc
