Reworking Gears (Week of 3/24)

Hello Everyone! This week was fairly normal in the Shop. I was only out on Monday due to me coming back from a family trip over the weekend. I mainly worked on reworking the gears this week and I was able to get some physical gears laser-cutted so progress was made. I do believe I could get this project done within the next month. Enough talk, let's dive into the week! Coming in on Tuesday, I revisited some of the example clock models I found online so I could see how they s

Shorten Motor Work (week of 3/17)

Hello all! This week in shop for me was very short, as I was only in for like a day and a half. We didn't have school Friday and I was sick Monday, so I didn't much time to do stuff but I was able to make some process done on the CAD side of the clock. I've hit a wall in repairing the machine that Business & Marketing gave us due to the motor. Without farther ado, let's dive into the week! I was out sick on Monday so my week started on Tuesday, which I imminently dived back

Gear Prints (Week of 3/9)

Hello Y'all! This was a mix between working on side projects and the mechanical clock. I've moved onto the next big part of the clock this week, so we'll see how long this step takes me. I don't have else to talk about in the preview, so lets just jump into this strange week! Coming in on Monday, I deiced I wanted to fix up my laptop today. A few of the screws on the bottom were missing and I have no idea where they went, so I was just going to replace them with some screws

Outlining Models (Week of 3/2)

Hello All! This week was a very CAD focused week for the Mechanical Clock. I was mostly just modeling and sketching out stuff all week. I also started a side quest for Mr.L but that was also more modeling. I don't have a lot of things to talk about in the preview so let's just jump into it. Starting off on Monday, I got started on the outside design of the clock. It's a bit easier to design the mechanics of the clock when I know how much space I'm working with. I used a bunc

Craftsmen Work (Week of 2/9)

Hello everyone! This week was very productive for the Sickles, I was able to (almost) finish them. There's some compilations with me finishing them up within the show but I'll get into that more later. Everything was pretty straight forward this week, so let's dive in! Starting off on Monday, I decided to use the smaller PVC pipes due to the test blade being able to slide over easier on it than the larger ones. I also figured that it would be easier to just use string to con

Music Model (Week of 2/2)

Hello Everyone! We're back to having full weeks of school, so I had an (almost) full week in shop. I was out Wednesday due to a cold but progress was made on the sickles and I got to a fun side project for the music department. We do have a week-long break coming up, so I do plan on getting the sickles done before than; we'll see if I can stick to that plan. Enough pre-ramble, let's dive into the week! Starting off on Monday, I finished off the Sickle model. I added a small

Oops! All Snow! (Week of 1/28)

Hello everyone! This week was another very short week of school, only two work days! This was mainly due to the snowstorm that hit Boston over the weekend. the aftermath was so bad that the school shut down for two days and no-one could get anywhere. Anyways, these two days were spent starting a new project, specifically another prop project. I wanted something that I could bang out within a few weeks and I was itching to create another prop. With the overview over, let's de

Shortern Report (Week of 1/21)

Hello Y'all! This week was a very short week as we had both Monday and Tuesday. I was able to finally finish the Lazy Susan for my sister, the gift is only a month late. This was really the only thing I was working on for the two work days we had, as I now have ti figure out my next project. Without further ado, let's dive into this very short week! Coming back on Wednesday I had an idea on how I can fix the Susan. The containers and the pillar didn't really fit into the pla

Regalo Para mi Hermana (Week of 1/12)

Hello Y'all! This week was spent working on the Lasy Susan for my sister, it was originally for her birthday but it's only a month late. No time pasted at all. I've also been brainstorming what to do after this project is done, which I haven't made much ground on. Anyways, let's jump into this week in The Shop. Starting off Monday, I finished the Poster Project I've working on for the last few weeks. I cleaned up the wiring and did some last minute checks to make sure that n
