Final Blog Post

Hello Everyone! This is my final Blog Post of my Senior year! It's been a while wild but we're finally here. I didn't really have a ton of time in shop due to normal Monday gym and Tuesday was Senior Skip day, but what time I did have was spent on finishing my teacher's gift. I also worked on putting back together that guitar I took apart last week. There's not much else to talk about in this preview, so for the final time, let's dive into the week!

Coming in on Monday, I cut out the last pieces of the NTHS Ring Toss which was just the walls. The teacher that's in charge of the NTHS wasn't in that day, they're also apart of the culinary, so I couldn't check in with them to see if they got any of the bottles I needed.(and to be honest, I forget to check in with them for the rest of the week). I added a little rim to the Ring Toss model, as LEDS would be going around the top and it looked weird to me to have something around the top and not the bottom as well, but that was a quick thing. For the rest of that day, I worked on the model for the gift for my teacher. I changed the size of the organizer itself from 5in to 4in as it was just a bit too tall and would've used a lot of filament to print it out.

I wasn't in on Tuesday due to Senior Skip day, but on Wednesday, we spent the half day in shop as the 10th graders was taking the MCAS so we had strange schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday. On Wednesday, I printed out most of the desk organizer parts. It was mostly the spinning base I was working on, as it was very unbalanced and wouldn't fit together right. I spend the day remaking the parts and to try and get them fixed. I sorta fixed the issue, it's still unbalance but less so. I also added the shop's logo onto the organizer and worked on remaking the dividers inside as the old ones wasn't going to work with the logo engraving. Our shop teacher also gave us an "End of the Year Checklist", just making sure we clean out our bins and make sure they can access all our CAD and coding files. I'm likely going to finish up that checklist on Friday as I want to finish the gift first. I started printing out the actually organizer it's self before the end of the day.

I checked on the print beginning of Thursday, and it came out great! I did spend some time trying to remove all the supports from it, as some were wrapped around the more thinner parts of the 3d print. I also reprinted the bottom spinner piece as it made the pin connector smaller, see if that would fix the balance issue. Mr.Christy reminded me that I still had to re-assemble the guitar I took apart Friday, I thought it would take a period to fix it. It took the rest of the day and I unfortunately snapped two strings due to too much tension, I think. The main problem is that I need to have springs on screws that are underneath the guitar covering, not giving much room to work with and the spring aren't that easy to handle. I plan on finishing that guitar Friday with Mr.L's help as he'll help me re-strings the remaining strings. I didn't want to un-string anything as I don't know how to string a guitar but Mr.L does. Hopefully this Friday, I'll finish both the guitar and the gift. This has been a wild ride but I loved this shop and wouldn't trade it for the world.
