Hello! This will be the last blog post I make for my Junior Year, and this week was spent finishing up the bookshelf and small gifts.

Starting this week with the bookshelf I started last week, I re-sized it in CAD and cut out another test-cut in cardboard. While the size was fine with this version, the inner shelf caused me some problems this time around. The place where it was originally was so that the two shelves were too small to fit any books. I just moved it up a bit, so it's around 9in from the bottom instead of right in the mid-section of the walls. That seemed to fix the sizing issue I was having. The next test cut worked great, and the test notebook fit how I wanted it to. These test cuts took some time due to having to rebuild the entire bookshelf each and every time.

I helped Mr.L clean out one of the Shop vacuums as it was clogged with old dirt, big metal chips, etc. I also went through all of our spray cans, seeing which worked and which didn't. Around a total of 5 cans didn't work, which out of all of our cans isn't bad. Mr.Christy also asked me to write out a list of what to do after a person is done spray-painting to ensure that the can doesn't clog. After those cleaning tasks were done, I worked on a few gifts. My Father plays a game called League of Legends, and I wanted to make him figures of his two favorite legends. It took some time finding the models as I can't really just open the game files and take them from there. I managed to find some good ones and printed them out. One of the figures broke while I was trying to take the supports off. I was able to put them back together. When both models were fully together, I spray-painted them white as a base coat to paint them better at my house.

I also worked on making a little "fake" plushie from a small game I like. The plushie is basically a chick breaking out of its egg, but feet first. The model in CAD didn't take long, around an hour or two. I also finally painted the bookshelf on the same day I was finishing up the Egg model. Mr.L told me that I can't print out the egg due to it being completely full. So, I had to hollow it out in CAD and made the decision to cut it in half as well, so it would perhaps print faster. One goal I have for my senior year in the Shop is to learn the Machine Shop better, as I only really know how to use a handful of machines. I thank you for reading through my blogs, and I wish you a great summer! See you next year :)
