This week, I continued working on the 3D printer. I found out last week that the X-axis on 3D printer was inverted, and that can cause some problems when printing. I spent Monday trying to fix it but I was unsuccessful in my attempts. As I am unable to change the X-axis, I just to make sure to mirror anything I wish to print across the x-axis. On a productive note, I finished up the model for the 3D Printer's case. I spent some time modeling the extra things I want the case to have, things I've mentioned in the past blog past. Filament holder, a hole for both the data and power cord, a side holder for glue sticks and anything else it may need, as well as a custom door handle.

Once I saw how big the sketch was on Inkscape, I began to second guess the size of the case. It was a 20 x 21 box around 16-in high, and when I did a test cut of the bottom piece and one of the walls. I realized that the size was too big, it wouldn't fit in the stop I have in mind in my house. Following that realization, I changed the measurements to smaller size(though the printer still has some wiggle room length wise).

Changing those measurements broke some things in the model, So I spent most of Wednesday and Thursday fixing it. After the model was fixed, I did another test cut and it fits the way I wanted it too. I plan on testing cutting the rest of the walls and top piece so I see what it looks like put together, and hopefully moving on to the final cut.
