Week 11/4-11/8

This week was only a four day week because we had no school Tuesday. Even then I started working on a holder for my chopsticks at home. My Mother asked me to make this a few weeks ago and I had finally gotten around to it. The CAD model was easy enough to model in just a day and a half. The Idea I was working with a while was just a box with holes drilled onto the acrylic top part of it. But after thinking about it so more and talking with Mr.L, I decided to keep the same box shape but do a few things differently. The top would still be acrylic but there wouldn't be anything on the corners (The box is in a strange rectangle/octagon shape). There would also be a mini version of the top cover on the inside to hold the chopsticks better instead of each pair of chopsticks getting their own box.

(Prototype of old design)

After a test-cut of the new design and making sure everything fitted, I cut out the final pieces. I spray=painted them a nice brown color and left them to dry overnight Wednesday. The project is basically done at this point as it's a very simple project. Just cut out pieces a glue them together. I still need to make the little stands at go on the bottom of the box so the box itself isn't touching the counter or any surface I put it on. Stays clean longer that way; But those stands shouldn't take long. I need to plan on what to do next after this and I'm hoping to find a project that takes me a while to do.
