Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great holiday season and great new years. This was our first week back in shop after Winter Break and I hit the ground running. I'm so close to finishing the Poster, literally only two things left. I've been thinking more on how to get my Sister's lazy Susan to spin and I think I have an idea that will be interesting to work on. Anyways, let's dive into the first blog post of the new year!
Starting off on Monday, I was determined to get the PCB to work and finally move on to the next step. I looked over what I had becuase I sorta forget exactly what I was working on before the break(it doesn't help that I also took a few days off of the Poster project before break). The batteries gave me a good scare while I was testing the PCB I already had, there was no power in the pack but after checking each battery with a milometer it worked fine, I'm still not sure what happened. I decided to just remake the PCB after I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working, and I also replaced the LED as it just died on me. After rerouting the PCB in CAD becuase I thought it was a problem within the design itself and I quickly milled it out as it only took like 2 minutes tops. I only just started to solder the PCB when the bell rang so I couldn't do much else.

Coming back on Tuesday, I finished soldering the PCB and fully changed the LED. Unsoldering the old one from the wires and soldering in the new one and connected it all to the main PCB. I tested it and it finally WORKED! The LED lit up when I flip the switch left and turned off when I flipped it right. I can finally move forward with this project. I screwed in the Battery Holder and Switch Holder in their spots but I had a problem with screwing in the PCB. I drill in the holes in the wrong spots and the solder itself on the PCB was causing some trouble with getting it to lay flat. I need to work out something to to mount the PCB, which is one of the two things that's stopping this project's completion. I reprinted the spinning bullet hole as I disliked the look the old one had and I also printed out a stopper of sort that I model in CAD to keep the spinner from falling out. I also need to find a way to keep the wires neat in the back but I think some tape will do the job as I'm going to see that side of the poster much and it's easy maintenance. As for the Lazy Susan project, I'm thinking of making custom gears that allows it to spin, which I've always want to take a shot at making gears so this will give me an chance to. I do have a backup plan if this doesn't work. I plan on getting this poster finished by Monday, as I need to reprint the Spinner stopper as it was too small to fit over the LED.
