Happy Holidays y'all! This week was once again a short-ish week as I was out Tuesday. Some steady progress was done on the Poster and I started on some holiday gifts. The update blog post for the last two weeks will be a up in a few days, some things have just popped up that delayed the upload. Anyway! Enough about last week, let's talk about this week!
Starting off the week, I mostly just spent Monday finishing up soldering the modified wires and I was able to test the PCB finally. After plugging everything in and flipping the switch, nothing happened. Of course, So I double check that all the soldered pins are getting power which most of them were. Expect the one of the pins for the resistors, it did also look strangely soldered so I redid the solder and tested everything again. Even with everything getting power and checking and rechecking that I wasn't misreading the millimeter, the LED still wasn't turning on. I'm pretty sure I just have a faulty LED but it was working when I was testing stuff with a breadboard. I wasn't able to do much else Monday due to having Gym.

I wasn't in school Tuesday so I did nothing that day, coming back Wednesday I know I wanted to actually start putting together the Poster with what I had. Spray-painting the Brim a darker brown color definitely made it pop more than when it was the same color as the Base. Puling everything took a while as I had to wait like 20/30-ish minutes after each coat of glue and I had to clamp down everything so it would really stick. I also got the final prints for the Switch and Battery holder printed out, and they actually fit the screws I picked. I took some time to finalized where I wanted all the electronic parts to go, lightly outlining everything in pencil so I know where to drill for the screws.
In-between the coats of glue, I started on some Holiday gifts. Well, the really only one that's gonna get done in time for the holidays. My Sister has a bunch of makeup stuff and she requested that I make her a Lazy Susan for said makeup. This seems like a simple project as I can just 3d print most of the parts. I plan on 3d printing everything over the weekend so come Monday, I can quickly fix any problems and get it done before Christmas. This will be a test of how well I can 3d model stuff and plan ahead, which historically I'm not good at, so we'll see. A quick Google search lead to a bunch of ref pictures that I can based my model off of. The Upper part of the model didn't take long, it was just tedious designing and modeling a method to stack many compartments together. I got the basic shape for the bottom half of the Susan, the actual spinning part, done before the bell rang for Thursday. Hopefully I can get this finished before the Break but it's likely that my Sister will just have to wait until after Christmas to get her gift.
